Rocco is a registered psychologist with extensive experience and training working with adults, adolescents, and children.
He has worked in schools and communities of varying social and economic status providing advocacy, assessment and the support that is integral to one’s development.
Rocco is sensitive to the issues adolescents & young adults face today, and how these issues uniquely present in both heterosexual and LGBTQIA+ communities. Issues of identity, belonging, low self-worth, lack of assertiveness & communication problems, perfectionism, anxiety, and periods of depression; essentially, a host of complex developmental histories which impact our relationship to ourselves and others. These problems can be the underlying cause of many mental health issues, psychological distress and a lack of felt purpose or meaning in one’s life.
Rocco believes one of his goals is to help people befriend themselves. To help patients navigate their way to their internal and external resources, and reconnect with that sense of purpose.
Rocco has a particular way of expressing and embodying authenticity and compassion. By engaging with each individual and helping them to see themselves through his compassionate lens, he hopes to connect people with their inherent sense of worthiness.
He believes every relationship is unique, and the manner he brings to his sessions is both soothing and energising. He also brings lived experience to his sessions and enjoys hearing stories as well as telling them. His desire is to create new stories together with patients; that they might come in with one version of a story, and leave with another.
